Why IMC? I joined IMC in HBA1 because I was interested in marketing and wanted to learn more about the different roles and opportunities available in the industry. Throughout the year, not only did I discover my passion for marketing, but also gained access to valuable recruiting and mentorship resources and met a lot of great people. My positive experience in HBA1 encouraged me to take on a leadership role this year and I'm very excited to be able to help other students also discover their passion for marketing!

Why IMC? Since deciding I wanted to go into business, Marketing has always intrigued me particularly because of the convergence of Behavioural Economics, Analytical thinking, and Creativity. However I was drawn to IMC in particular because of the tight knit community that existed. Everyone in the club was really open to chatting and providing advice and I wanted to take on a leadership role to continue on this legacy.

Fun Fact I once had a running agreement with the front desk at a western residence where we could play board games past the time the lounge closed if we locked up ourselves. One time a facilities management staff member came in for the morning shift and went to open up the lounge and saw us all still playing Risk. He called us losers and walked away.
Why IMC? I didn't really have a lot of exposure to Marketing until taking marketing in second semester of HBA1. I really enjoyed how marketing is really a synthesis of many different aspects of business and psychology. I only wish that I had known about it sooner. I joined the IMC to hopefully show new HBA1s the wonders of marketing before the year is almost over.

In HBA1 I wasn't too sure about pursuing a career in Marketing - it was at the numerous IMC events where I learned about the different types of marketing and what marketing looks like outside of textbook definitions. IMC has been a great way for me to discover various opportunities and meet new people. And if I'm being honest, I think Marketers are the coolest people to be around. 😎
