IVEY MARKETING SUMMIT (IMS)
We are excited to announce the 10th annual Ivey Marketing Summit (IMS), Elevate, occurring from Saturday, October 3rd to Sunday, October 4th, 2020. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the world is coping with unexpected and dramatic changes. As one of the largest marketing conferences in Canada, we believe it is more important than ever to act on our mission to showcase the multi-faceted world of marketing, and to empower Ivey Business School students to grow their skills in the field of marketing, sales, and business development. The conference will provide professional development through engaging our active partners and provide opportunities for one-on-one networking. IMS 2020 will emphasize the different careers and opportunities that can be found within marketing, as one begins their journey of finding a path that best compliments their unique skill sets.
IMS HIGHLIGHTS
P&G Video Pitch
IMS’ flagship event will take its form as an video product pitch challenge, resembling key sentiments of the hit series, “Dragon’s Den”. However, there will be a catch! Candidates must find any P&G product in their home and creatively sell this product to platinum sponsor representatives in a 1-minute video elevator pitch. This challenge requires spontaneity, creativity, and the grit to impress the judges. The winners of this challenge will receive cash prizes.
UNILEVER’S Impact CHALLENGE
The Unilever Impact Challenge is made to place delegates under pressure in a realistic business situation, reflecting obstacles that professional marketers face. Candidates will be divided into small groups, and must prepare a 5-minute presentation of their proposed recommendations for the selected campaign challenge. Winners of this challenge will receive cash prizes.
MARKETING fireside panel discussion
IMS will be a hosting a 45-minute panel discussion with marketing professionals of various industries. This panel will encompass a casual and intimate conversation, enabling candidates to learn about panelists’ variant experiences in marketing, sales, and business development, and gain insight on factors that drove their career success. Following this discussion, the floor will be opened up to candidates for questions.
