Brent Choi

CEO/Chief Creative Officer

As a ‘creative’ guy, for years Brent hid the fact he had graduated from one of Canada’s most prestigious business schools. And that he used to be an account executive. And that he won numerous math competitions. Okay, maybe keep that last one on the down-low still. Most recently as CEO/Chief Creative Officer of DDB Canada, Brent uses his unique left-brain/right-brain approach to lead DDB’s total creative product and agency’s overall strategic direction across all offices. Before DDB, Brent spent 3 years in the big apple in charge of J. Walter Thompson’s flagship office where he helped transform them from old school agency into the #5 Cannes Cyber Agency in the World, leading global accounts such as Campari, Rolex, and J&J.

Previously to arriving in NY, Brent helped two different agencies transform into Canada’s Agency of the Year and two others to runner-up AOY, and his clients being named Brand and twice the Marketer of the Year. In 2013, he was the #2 ranked Digital Chief Creative Officer in the World, has 25 Cannes lions to his name, and his work has been featured around the world including in the New York Times, CNN, Forbes, Fast Company and even Sesame Street.

At home Brent transforms back to a proud dad, insane NFL fan, and loving husband. His wife would add “In that order.”

Scott Cooper

President & CEO at truss beverage company

Scott Cooper is an experienced business leader, marketer and innovator with a track record of breathing new life into businesses and brands. He is driven by the talent of the people surrounding him, striving every day to lead with the values he looks for in his team - integrity, empathy and resilience.

By virtue of his passion to always be learning, Scott is at the forefront of an industry that is still trying to master its own rules. The multitude of possible uses for the cannabis plant and the potential to positively impact on the lives of consumers (without asking them to change their behaviour), saw Scott commit to the concept of Truss Beverages long before it was even a reality.

Backed by the heritage of two industry leading companies, Scott is challenging traditional perceptions of innovation to build a new ecosystem that is nimble, responsive and focused solely on the needs of the consumer. He believes the industry’s best asset for innovation is the abundance of ideas and energy of talent that lies with startups and entrepreneurs, and he’s not afraid to embrace this. Relentless, consumer-driven innovation at every level of the business will be the mantra that sets Truss apart from its competitors.

Scott welcomes the drive from regulators on responsible usage. He is committed to putting education at the heart of all marketing and communications activity within the industry, to help consumers understand how to use cannabis responsibly, as well as the myriad of possibilities associated with beverage products.

At heart, Scott is an adventurer who loves all things water. When he is not at work, you’ll find him surfing, scuba diving or hitting the ski slopes with his family.
